Who we are

LeasedUp is a verified rental reputation platform that helps tenants build a portable rental resume and helps landlords make informed leasing decisions. We do not own, manage, list, or broker any rental property. We are not a real-estate broker, agent, or property manager.

The platform is offered by LeasedUp, Inc. References to “we,” “us,” or “our” mean LeasedUp, Inc.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to use LeasedUp. By creating an account you confirm that you meet this age requirement and that the information you provide is truthful and accurate.

You are responsible for the security of your account credentials, the activity that occurs under your account, and for promptly notifying us of any unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that are used to abuse the platform.

Verified content

Reviews and references on LeasedUp are tied to verified tenancies. To submit a review, you must have a tenancy verified with a signed lease and an additional document (such as a utility bill) in your name. To submit a reference about a tenant, your identity is verified through Stripe Identity and your role (landlord or property manager) is confirmed.

Verified content is not the same as endorsed content. We screen submissions for inappropriate material but do not independently validate the truth of every statement. Users are individually responsible for the content they publish.

Once submitted, content is sealed. Sealed content cannot be edited or withdrawn. This is deliberate: it protects against retaliatory edits and gives both sides equal confidence in the public record.

Acceptable use

You agree not to submit content that is defamatory, harassing, discriminatory, threatening, fraudulent, or designed to extort or intimidate another user. You agree not to attempt to identify individual reviewers, retaliate against reviewers, or use LeasedUp data to circumvent fair-housing laws.

You agree not to scrape, redistribute, or commercialize content from LeasedUp without our written permission. You agree not to interfere with the operation of the platform, including through automated traffic, vulnerability probing, or attempts to bypass access controls.

Tenant references and resumes

References are private and tenant-owned. A reference becomes part of a tenant's resume only after the tenant explicitly approves it. Tenants may decline references silently; the writer is never notified of the tenant's decision, by design.

Resume share links are private credentials. The tenant decides when and with whom to share a link. LeasedUp does not view-track shared resumes and does not share recipient identity beyond the tenant's own records.

Landlord profiles and replies

Property profiles are public. Landlords may claim a property by submitting a deed, management agreement, or insurance policy for admin review. Approved landlords may reply once per review and may toggle vacancy status on their claimed properties.

Landlord replies are public and tied to the verified landlord identity. Replies must comply with the acceptable-use terms above.

Fees

LeasedUp is currently free for both tenants and landlords. We reserve the right to introduce paid features in the future. We will give clear notice before charging any user, and free features described here will remain available in some form.

Limitation of liability

LeasedUp is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any specific information will be accurate or available. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

Fair Housing compliance and recipient responsibility

LeasedUp is a credentialing and information platform. It does not facilitate, evaluate, score, recommend, approve, or deny any rental housing transaction. Recipients of any tenant credential, resume, reference, or review delivered via LeasedUp are solely responsible for ensuring their use of that information complies with all applicable federal, state, and local fair housing laws, including but not limited to the Fair Housing Act and the Equal Credit Opportunity Act. By accessing any tenant-permissioned credential through LeasedUp, the recipient agrees that LeasedUp cannot be held liable for the recipient's housing decisions, screening practices, or compliance failures. This includes any decision made in whole or in part based on information accessed through LeasedUp.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice. Continued use of LeasedUp after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
